French Montana

I know some of you are thinking that this blog may be to only promote new albums/mixtapes and say how good they are, how much talent the artist has, how good the production was etc. etc.

However, that is not the case. We keep it real. And so what better way to do that than to call an album exactly what it is: trash. I mean seriously, this album has 28 features for 18 songs (Deluxe Edition). I think that in itself should say that French can’t make a real hit without a TON of help. I will say that there are a couple songs on the album that are legitimate. “Pop That”, which has been out for what seems like forever, has been on rotation in probably almost any nightclub in America. But even on that, he has by far the worst verse. Ross, Drake, and Wayne killed him on his own song. The second single “Freaks” ft. Nicki Minaj wasn’t really for me but that’s a personal taste preference so I don’t wanna hate on it too much. The sleeper on here to me is “Gifted” ft. The Weeknd which actually is a solid song.

The point is, if you’re looking for any kind of lyrical content, you’ve come to the wrong place. I know the hip-hop/rap community needs guys like French, Gucci, Waka etc. for the fun, entertaining, hype songs that we love. But jeez. If it weren’t for some of these beats and an assload of features then who would really listen to this? JUHEARDD??

We’re being generous giving this a 5/10. Commercial sales of 56,000 in the first week tend to support us on this.

Don’t worry, the months of June and July are going to provide us with some extremely good music.
