Triad Music Festival

Hello world,

Last night the city of Greensboro, NC hosted it’s Triad Music Festival and quite simply: we were blessed. The headliner of this event was none other than Compton’s own Kendrick Lamar. Never one to disappoint, Kendrick brought the heat. He came out right off the bat to “Westside, Right on Time” and from there things only got better. I do have to say for such a large crowd (I’m guessing in the 5,000 range) the crowd participation was excellent. People were standing the entire time and going word for word with K.Dot. One of the best moments in the show as far as crowd involvement goes was when Kendrick did his verse from A$AP Rocky’s “Fuckin Problems”. I mean seriously, I’ve never heard more people say “GIRL, I KNOW YOU WANT DIH DICK!”. Kendrick even want back after he finished his verse and did it again, acapella with the crowd.

But by far, the best moment of the show came when Kendrick addressed the crowd and let us know we were the loudest, most turnt up crowd he’s had – i was thinkin right, i’m sure you don’t say this at any other shows – but he continued by saying that he had a special surprise for us….

and then out comes NC’s very own J. COLE

at this moment in time all hell broke loose. The crowd lost their minds, everybody started jumping up and down, screamin, standing on chairs etc. It hit the fan.

Cole performed both verses on his new single “Power Trip” and we were singing the hook in place of Miguel.

This show was definitely one for the ages. These 2 are part of the core of young rappers who will be the future of hip-hop/rap and they continue to impress me, even though I’ve seen them both 5-10 times combined.

Only lowlight of the show was when they cut alcohol sales at 9:30. I wasn’t upset bc I was driving home, but there were some PISSED individuals behind me lol. they were not allowed to Pour Up, DRANK.

Here is the entire set list as well:
